Call Us Braggers! Site Build It Gives Our Business a Stellar Alexa Ranking

We are bragging about our Site Build It website, EmpoweredBusinessEntrepreneurs.com, and the stellar Alexa Ranking we have achieved in a very short period of time.
Let us explain… and tell you why this is important to YOU.
A little over two years ago, neither of us (Alicia Bausley and Lisa Hanfileti) could have told you what an Alexa ranking was, let alone brag about it. We didn’t even know each other way back then and could not have predicted that we would become sought after trainers for online marketing.
“What’s an Alexa Ranking?”
Here’s what we have learned through Site Build It about the relevance of a website’s Alexa ranking. An Alexa ranking is simply a way to see how your website or blog compares to the 100 million or so other active sites on the Internet.
In Alexa’s words,
“It’s a measure of a website’s popularity. The rank is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors and pageviews over the past three months. The site with the highest combination of visitors and pageviews is ranked #1.”
Take a look at SiteBuildIt’s explanation here and see how you can take the Alexa ranking test to uncover how your website or blog ranks.

Fast forward two years to when we started our Empowered Business Entrepreneurs Site Build It website. We each had previous experience with Site Build It and hoped we could combine our talents to create something really special.
We had no idea what we were in for! To give you an idea, let us just tell you that we closely track a number of parameters to determine where we are making progress with our EmpoweredBusinessEntrepreneurs.com website and our EBE blog. We know the power of SBI and have jumped in and are making the proper moves to create full time incomes.
Our Site Build It site is our central hub or online marketing platform that we use to attract people from all over the world. And to make sure that we continue to attract visitors, we remain extremely focused on providing quality content that is so valuable that they keep coming back for more.
We took the Alexa test ourselves and quite honestly do so almost every day (out of pure excitement and thrill about how well we continue to improve!).
Today (June 22, 2009) this is where we (our EmpoweredBusinessEntrepreneurs.com website AND our blog) are ranked out of 100 million active websites in the world:
That places us in the top 2% of all active websites on the web in the whole world. In less than 4 months!!
We believe we are only weeks away from being in the top 1%.
Go ahead and put some big names of other online marketing trainers in this test and see if they are making the right moves to explode their site in the Alexa rankings! Come on… brag with us because we wouldn’t be here without YOU!
We wish we could take more credit but quite honestly all we did was implement the strategies taught by Site Build It. (Oh, we added in a few little tricks of our own, but that’s another story… and training program!)
This was our Alexa ranking on May 4, 2009 (just 7 weeks ago):
Building a website that attracts leads is the one challenge that almost all new online marketers face. And getting it to rank within the top 1% of all websites in the world? Well, now that’s a downright challenge (and quite intimidating to say the least).
What’s our point here?
We are here to help you do the things that will get YOU noticed! We’re a team that works to help you
- Focus on your own skills and use them to build your credibility

Lisa & Alicia
So I have listened this week to Alicia and Lisa’s “Site Build It versus Blog Smackdown” presentation and to Steve Anderson’s presentation on WordPress (not in that order). Both were great — I got a lot of new information and also got many of my questions answered. Thank you!
I’d already done Lisa’s SBI tutorials and explored the SiteSell site at length, so I’m getting a pretty good idea of what I want to do with my website. However, I had no idea there were so many things you could do with a blog. (I assume WordPress is the leader among the blogging platforms, like Typepad, SquareSpace, and others — true?) I’m looking forward to the one on July 15 and learning about Tumblr.
I’m definitely planning a SBI website, but I definitely want a blogging capability also. But with all the blogging capability within SBI, I am not sure why you all have a WordPress blog affiliated with your SBI website. Is it because WordPress provides a lot of functionality that is not available from the SBI blogging capabilities? And is the WordPress site separately hosted and just linked to the web site, or is it actually hosted by SiteSell?
I’m assuming that my best choices at first are the SBI “BlogIt” and “Infin it” functions built into SBI. If I need more, I could add WordPress later.
There’s so much to learn, and I reckon once I purchase the site and start the SBI preparation I’ll find more answers. I’m just trying to foresee the issues. Right now, there’s so much work getting content prepared, I’m almost underwater (fortunately I’m a good swimmer).
Hi John,
I am glad that you found our webinar, “A Site Build It! Website Versus a Blog”, helpful. Determining how you want to communicate with your target market and which platform will work best for your goals is very important.
I want to try to answer your questions by making a few clarifications so that you have a clearer picture of SBI! and WordPress, and the power of the combination.
Site Build It!’s RSS and Blog It! are fantastic features that allows our web content to get massive exposure through search engines and syndication feeds. But they do not allow us to have the kinds of conversations and interactions with our web visitors via comments (like we are having right now!). WordPress is a stand-alone system that enhances our ability to attract people who like to interact through comments, feedback, and questions, and we love that!
WordPress in and of itself is an awesome platform (as Stephen Anderson pointed out). Site Build It! allows us to ‘connect’ our WordPress blog, using a separate independent hosting account — not Sitesell — through their program called Infin It!. All Infin It! does is give us the ability to add a third party application and connect it to our SBI! site through a subdomain so that it becomes part of our SBI! website in the eyes of search engines. So we get all the benefits of WordPress ADDED to our SBI! site. It is an incredible combination!
So for people who want to do blogging and SBI!, we usually recommend spending the next ~ 3 – 6 months getting your SBI! site up and attracting organic traffic and using their proven C>T>P>M process. You can site-blog with Blog It! and then when you have > 30 pages of content and are attracting 50+ visitors per day, add a WordPress blog. This will magnify your marketing tremendously!
I am so glad to hear that you are a good swimmer. Feel free to join us in the EBE Professional Forum to get help (and air) there when you need it!
Peace,
Lisa
Lisa
Thank you. That was so helpful — just what I was looking for. The SBI site plus the WordPress blog is a powerful communicaation combination. (Your SBI tutorials in RP were a great starter for me with SBI.)
You guys are having great success. Now if I could just get you to write my content. I do have a list of 30 pages, but not yet the words and pictures to fill them. Oh, well — it’s a good way to spend July.
Thanks again, John
